DISCUSSION - Disconnect, from your computer, any SCSI devices you don't want to start. - Turn on ALL SCSI devices connected to your Macintosh -- even those you're not using -- to avoid problems. - Turn on SCSI devices before you start up your Macintosh. - Do not turn off SCSI devices until after you've shut down your Macintosh. - Ensure that the SCSI chain is properly terminated. A terminator is required on the last available port in a SCSI chain (provided the device is not internally terminated). - Ensure that each SCSI device in the chain has a different ID number. There are eight SCSI ID numbers available. - ID number 0 is assigned to the Macintosh internal hard drive. - ID number 7 is assigned to the Macintosh. - ID numbers 1-5 are available for the other SCSI devices in the chain.
