    Does LaserWriter driver 7.1.1 fix the compatibility problems with some
    clone PostScript interpreters and LaserWriter driver 7.1?

DISCUSSION


    No.  This new driver does not address the compatibility problems between
    LaserWriter driver 7.1 and some third-party printers because this is not a
    7.1 driver problem.  This is an issue with the clone PostScript
    interpreters (PhoenixPage and TrueImage) these printers use, and which
    deviate from the Adobe standard interpreter.

    Apple is working with the companies that sell these interpreters to provide
    a fix.  Until a fix is available, Apple recommends that you continue using
    LaserWriter driver 7.0.
