    After clicking Stop in the Sharing pane of the System Preferences application, File Sharing continues to work.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

    The Sharing pane of System Preferences indicates that File Sharing is off, but users can still log in.

    Products affected

    • Mac OS X Public Beta

    Solution

    To turn off File Sharing in Mac OS X Public Beta:
      1. Open the System Preferences application.
      2. Click Sharing.
      3. Click Stop.
      4. Restart the computer.

    Apple plans to fix this issue in a future software version.
