    Mac OS X Public Beta cannot open applications that are stored on UDF (Universal Disk Format) volumes.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

    An application stored on a UDF-formatted disk or disk partition will not open or "launch."

    Products affected
    • Mac OS X Public Beta
    • Media such as DVD-RAM and DVD-ROM discs that use the UDF format

    Solution

    Copy the application to a Mac OS Standard (HFS) or Mac OS Extended (HFS Plus) formatted volume.
