    Symantec's Norton AntiVirus software does not work in the Classic environment.


DISCUSSION

    Symptom

    When the Classic environment starts up from a System Folder on which Norton AntiVirus has been installed, an alert box with this message appears:
      The Norton AntiVirus Macro Scan Lib file is missing from the Norton AntiVirus Additions folder.

    This happens despite the fact that the file is still present.

    Solution

    If you wish to use the AntiVirus software, start up the computer using Mac OS 9.
