TOPIC

When using Classic, you must use the System Preferences application for some changes formerly made in the Mac OS 9 Date & Time control panel.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

You can change the date, time, time zone, and time server in the Mac OS 9 Date & Time control panel when the computer is started up from Mac OS 9. But these settings do not appear or are not adjustable in the Classic environment when the computer is started up from Mac OS X Public Beta. This is normal behavior for Mac OS X Public Beta.

    Products affected
    • Mac OS X Public Beta

    Solution

To change the date, time, time zone or time server:
      1. In the Dock, click System Preferences.
      2. Click the icon for Date & Time.
      3. Click the lock button in the lower left corner.
      4. Enter the administrator name and password.
      5. Click OK.

You can now change the date, time, time zone, and time server settings.
