Applications open in the Classic environment of Mac OS X Public Beta may not properly display some tool tips.
DISCUSSION Symptom An application that has tool palettes does not display tool tips in Classic, but they work normally when the computer is started up from Mac OS 9. (A tool tip is a small information window that appears when the pointer is held over a tool icon in a tool palette or toolbar.) Product affected Mac OS X Public Beta Solution Applications may fail to display tool tip text that would overlap a part of the desktop that does not contain a Classic application window. Parts of tool tip messages that protrude into the Aqua (Mac OS X) desktop may be clipped. As a workaround, you may place a blank SimpleText document window behind the affected application's window. If the overlapping tool tip text protrudes into the SimpleText window, rather than the Aqua desktop, it should be visible. |
