TOPIC

Some early versions of the games Tomb Raider (Eidos Interactive/Aspyr Media) and Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer (LucasArts Entertainment Company) require software updates to work in the Classic environment.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

After failing to detect OpenGL in Classic, the game may display a message that contains "requires OpenGL 1.1 or later." You may be asked if you wish to install OpenGL now. This happens even when you have the correct version of OpenGL already installed.

    Products affected
    • Mac OS X Public Beta
    • Tomb Raider versions prior to 1.0.2
    • Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer versions prior to 1.0.1.

    Solution

Download and install the appropriate software updates for the game you have. Later versions of these games correctly detect the installed OpenGL software.
