    Summary

    The PPP Connect application in Mac OS X Public Beta does not offer the use of a terminal window.

    Symptom

    You may not connect to an Internet service provider that relies on a terminal window in Mac OS X Public Beta.

    Solution

    Start up the computer from Mac OS 9 to connect to Internet service providers which require the use of a terminal connection method. To enable the terminal in Mac OS 9:
      1. Open the Remote Access control panel.
      2. Click Options.
      3. Click the Protocol tab.
      4. Click the checkbox next to "Connect to a command-line host" to enable that option.
      5. Click the radio button next to "Use terminal window" to enable that option.
      6. Click OK.
      7. Close the Remote Access control panel.
      8. Click Save to save changes to the current configuration.
