TOPIC

To ensure correct privileges settings when using Server Admin remotely, be sure to disconnect from any server volumes to which you are connected as a non-Admin user.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

Privileges set in Server Admin do not behave as expected.

    Note: This occurs when both:
    • The Server Admin is used from a computer that is not the server, and
    • You connected to the volume for which privileges are being set as a guest or non-Admin user.

    Products affected
    • Mac OS X Server 10.0

    Solution

Before using Server Admin remotely, disconnect from (unmount) any of the servers volume. This ensures that you connect solely as the Admin user when using Server Admin.
