TOPIC

Is there an optional FPU (floating-point unit) for the Performa 600 computer?

DISCUSSION

The Performa 600 computer can be upgraded with a math co-processor by
merely installing a standard Motorola 68882 chip running at 32 MHz. The
hardware and software will automatically recognize the chip. No further
hardware or software changes are required.

The math co-processor chip is part number 922-0107 and can be purchased and installed through Apple authorized service providers. This upgrade can be also be used in Macintosh Performa 450, 460, 466, 467, 550, and 560 models.
