TOPIC

Which character sets are supported by KanjiTalk System 7: JIS X 0208-1990,
    JIS X 0212-190, UNICODE/ISO DIS 10646, or something else?

DISCUSSION

    Supported Character Set
    -----------------------
KanjiTalk supports the JIS x0208 character set. Some of the fonts
have extra characters newly created in JIS, but they don't have a
    number yet.

    Unsupported Character Sets
    --------------------------
JIS x0212 is the extension to JIS x0208, and it's sometimes referred
to as JIS level-3 (Note: JIS x0208 defines JIS level-1 and level-2). This
character set isn't supported in KanjiTalk 7.

Unicode and ISO DIS 10646 are actually two different specifications,
though 16-bit encoding of ISO 10646 took the Unicode specification.
KanjiTalk 7 doesn't support Unicode or ISO 10646.
