TOPIC

I'm having trouble using Adobe Type Manager (ATM) with a Macintosh Classic and the StyleWriter II.

When printing with Microsoft Word or MacWrite II, the printouts show erratic spacing between words, as well as words falling out of the set margins.

DISCUSSION

The problems encountered are known problems with the StyleWriter II
drivers earlier than version 1.2 when used with ATM. This ONLY occurs on 68000-based Macintosh computers (that is, Macintosh Plus, SE, and Classic).

Upgrading to the StyleWriter II printer driver v1.2 or later will solve this problem. A workaround using earlier version is to turn Background Printing OFF,
enabling Fractional Character Widths, and/or NOT using "Full Justification" might help a little.

    Article Change History:
28 June 1994 - Added StyleWriter II version that fixes the problem.
