Summary
These two products differ in three ways:
* Hard drive capacity
* Application software installed
* Where sold
The Performa 475 and 476 have many features that are expensive options on other computers, including stereo sound, built-in networking, and support for all Apple and various third-party displays. They can display up to 256 colors on all Apple displays, and with additional video RAM, more than 32,000 colors on the 14-inch and 16-inch Macintosh color displays.
The built-in Apple SuperDrive lets you work with documents created in different computing environments: it can read from, and write to, Windows, MS-DOS, OS/2, and Apple II ProDOS disks. There's an expansion slot for special options, such as video capture, Apple IIe emulation, or Ethernet networking. Multiple ports let you easily add peripherals such as an external hard drive, high-capacity CD-ROM drive, and scanner.
They are fully compliant with the EPA's Energy Star program.
