    A customer is currently using the Serial Switch v1.1a1 CDEV on his
    Macintosh Quadra 900. His also is using a Macintosh Quadra 840AV.
    He would like to use the serial switch for his AV system but gets the
    message "Cannot be used with this Macintosh."

    Are there any plans for making a Serial Switch CDEV for the AV systems?

    The Serial Switch is designed for products that contain intelligent I/O
    processors (IOPs).  Only the Macintosh IIfx, Quadra 900, and 950 have IOPs
    on the ports for the floppy disk, ADB, and serial I/O.  Since the Quadra 840AV doesn't have IOPs, this program will return the error message you report.
