TOPIC

Customer is looking for the Adobe Photoshop Patch Color Values for the Apple Color Printer. Customer has contacted Adobe and they have informed her that this would be information that would have to be obtained from the manufacturer. Customer says that this would be the CIE coordinates for these colors used in the printer.

DISCUSSION

What the customer is looking for here can easily be resolved by using ColorSync which is included with the Apple Color Printer software.

Assuming that they are looking for the x,y,Y values for CMYK which are in the "Custom" Ink Colors popup in "Printing Inks Setup", this feature of Photoshop allows the user to manually calibrate╩to the printer. The easier way to obtain calibration would be to use ColorSync which automatically calibrates between the monitor and printer. There is an Apple Color Printer profile which ColorSync uses and can be selected in the "Color" options dialog in the Print dialog of the Apple Color Printer.
