TOPIC

I am trying to ping my own IP address with MacTCP Ping but get no response. My IP address and configuration are just fine though!

DISCUSSION

MacTCP Ping does not support the loopback address 127.0.0.1 or your own IP address. You will only be able to ping your address if you acquire that address from a DDP-IP gateway such as a FastPath via the EtherTalk icon in MacTCP. If you have an address assigned using the Ethernet or Token Ring icon you will not be able to ping your own address successfully.
