DISCUSSION LaserWriter Bridge version 1.0 The LaserWriter Bridge software allows users on your extended network (such as Ethernet) to have access to a LocalTalk printer connected to your Macintosh. This file summarizes the installation procedure and provides information not covered in the documentation you received with the LaserWriter Bridge software. About LaserWriter Bridge LaserWriter Bridge 1.0 is intended to be used only with the type of printer you have just purchased. Do not try to use LaserWriter Bridge with other types of LocalTalk printers, or with more than one LocalTalk printer connected to a single "host" Macintosh. Before Installing LaserWriter Bridge Before installing LaserWriter Bridge, you need to connect your LocalTalk printer to a host Macintosh on an extended network. Refer to the manual that came with your printer for instructions on connecting it to the Macintosh. The host Macintosh requires * At least 4 megabytes (MB) of RAM. * System software version 7.0 or later. * The appropriate hardware and software for an extended network connection. Installing LaserWriter Bridge 1) Select your extended network (for example, EtherTalk) in the Network control panel. 2) Insert the LaserWriter Bridge floppy disk. 3) Drag the LaserWriter Bridge icon to the System Folder icon. 4) When asked if you want LaserWriter Bridge placed in the Control Panels folder, click Yes. 5) Restart the host computer. |
