Yes, it is possible to partition an IDE hard drive on a Macintosh. You may use Apple's Drive Setup software to accomplish this task. Drive Setup supports the following computers: Power Macintosh computers Drive Setup is supported on all of the current Power Macintosh computers. This includes all the original Power Macintosh computers as well as the PCI-based Power Macintosh computers. Important: Drive Setup is not supported with the Macintosh Processor Upgrade.
