    If you purchase an Apple ColorSync 17- or 20-inch display, you may find that the software included with the display will not install on computers running System 7.1.


DISCUSSION

    Although the listed specifications for the ColorSync 17 and 20 displays state that these displays are compatible with System 7.1 or later, the Apple Displays 1.5.5 software that comes with these monitors will not install onto a Macintosh computer running System 7.1. You need to have System 7.5 or later to install this software.

    If you have System 7.1 and cannot update to System 7.5, you can download the AppleVision 1.5.3 software from Apple's Software Update locations, and install it on your computer.

    Note : If you use the AppleVision 1.5.3 software, your Monitors & Sound control panel will list "AppleVision 750/850" instead of "ColorSync 17/20" in the top left corner.
