I have a Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh and I'm viewing mpeg movies using Apple Video Player (AVP). The volume for Apple Video Player is not easily adjusted and at times is too loud. Is there an update to Apple Video Player that will correct this?
DISCUSSION The audio volume slider in Apple Video Player adjusts the computer's system volume rather than the system alert volume used by some applications. If the Apple Video Player audio volume slider does not adjust volume as you expect, Apple suggests adjusting the audio volume using the Audio Volume Control Strip or the Monitors and Sound control panel. Either of these options are easily accessible while Apple Video Player is open. Another option is to install the Sound control panel and the Monitors control panel into the Control Panels folder. These are located in the Apple Extras folder on the hard drive. You must also remove or disable the Monitors & Sound control panel. Note: If this issue occurs under Mac OS 9, you may need to install the older versions of the Apple Video Player software by using the Video Software Installer v1.5.1 from the Apple Software Updates page: http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11080 This will provide even more control over the volume of the Apple Video Player application within the finder. |
