DISCUSSION
If you currently own any of a number of older-model Power Macintosh computers, or either of two earlier Workgroup Server systems, and you want the advanced capabilities of more powerful models, Apple has the ideal solution: the Power Macintosh 233-MHz Processor Upgrade Kit.
More specifically, the Power Macintosh 7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500, and 9600 desktop computers, as well as our Workgroup Server 7350 and 8550 models, feature a processor card that can be removed from the system's logic board and replaced by a card containing a more advanced processor. The Power Macintosh 233-MHz Processor Upgrade Kit offers this capability and more. It includes a card that contains a 233-megahertz PowerPC 604e processor, a 256K level 2 cache module designed to work effectively with this processor, and an auxiliary fan and grounding clip (not required for most installations; for specifics, see the Installation Requirements chart below). The kit provides everything you need to upgrade any of the supported systems and to experience dramatic increases in power and speed.
