    I want to use the Auto Dock feature on my eMate 300. What cables do I need?

DISCUSSION

    The Auto Dock feature allows the MessagePad 2000, MessagePad 2100, and eMate 300 to automatically perform a backup or synchronization of its information with your files on your computer. To use this feature on the eMate, you must make the connection using the Newton Interconnect port.

    All three products have the same cable requirements.

    You will need two items:

    To connect to a Macintosh Computer use:
    • Newton Serial Adapter Apple product number H02272/A.
    • Newton Serial Cable Apple product number H0246LL/A.

    To connect to a PC use:
    • Newton Serial Adapter Apple product number H02272/A.
    • Newton Serial Cable Apple product number H0229Z/A.

    Note: If your computer's serial port has a 25-pin connector, you also need a 9-pin to 25-pin adapter.
