It builds on the features behind the stunning success of the Power Macintosh G3 computer line by offering additional capabilities designed to enhance workgroup efficiency, such as high-capacity storage and state-of-the-art collaboration, productivity, and reliability software. The result is a unique server solution combining high performance with ease of use and economy. In fact, with its low cost (and even lower cost of ownership relative to competitors), the Macintosh Server G3 is the ideal tool to help small to medium-size workgroups in education, publishing/media, and other businesses get the most from their information technology. An affordable and versatile midrange server, the Macintosh Server G3 offers outstanding performance through its 233- or 266-megahertz PowerPC G3 processor. A new approach to cache memory called backside cache enables the Macintosh Server G3 to provide outstanding performance. The Macintosh Server G3 comes configured with AppleShare IP 5.0--software that makes it easy to incorporate this advanced server into your organizational intranet--and includes the Apple Network Administrator Toolkit, SoftRAID, and more.
