After installing Mac OS 8.5 on my Power Macintosh G3 equipped with the IXMicro ix3D UltimateRez video card, I find that I occasionally crash when using video applications such as Adobe Premiere, Apple Video Player, iVisit, or the QuickTime MoviePlayer.
DISCUSSION There is an incompatibility between the drivers that shipped with the IXMicro ix3D UltimateRez video card and Mac OS 8.5 that will cause the computer to crash when performing certain types of operations in video applications. IXMicro has updated their video drivers to fix this. You can download the new drivers at the IXMicro web site. This article provides information about a non-Apple product.
