TOPIC

I have installed the iMac Firmware Update and the iMac Update 1.1 and want to confirm that they have been installed. I was told that I could see the ROM versions installed on my iMac by looking in the Apple System Profiler. When I use Apple System Profiler, I see the following:

    ROM revision: $77D.44F1
Serial Number: [my serial number here]
    Software bundle: 694-1108

Where can I find that information? Am I looking in the wrong place?

DISCUSSION

You must obtain Apple System Profiler version 2.1.2. Previous versions do not provide that information.

If you have installed both the iMac Firmware Update and the iMac update 1.1, you will see the following information using Apple System Profiler 2.1.2 under the Production information:

    ROM revision: $77D.44F1
    Boot ROM version: 3.0.f3
Mac OS ROM file version: 1.1
Serial number: [your serial number here]
    Software bundle: 694-1134

You can also use the USB section of "Devices and Drivers" of Apple System Profiler. If you have the iMac Update 1.1 installed the USB version will show up as 1.1. If you see 1.0.1 or 1.0, then you have an older MacOS ROM file on your iMac and should install the update.

Using Apple System Profiler 2.1.2 is the only way to see if the iMac Firmware Update is installed (other than running the updater again).

Boot ROM Version: 3.0.f3 (if it is installed, or...)
Boot ROM Version: 3.0.b2 (...if it is not.)

If the update was previously installed, the following dialog will appear.
