TOPIC

This article provides a solution to printing to the Portable StyleWriter printer from a PowerBook G3 Series computer.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

When using the Portable StyleWriter v1.0.1 driver the following occurs

    • Only part of the document prints.
    • Many lines of "gibberish-text" may print.
    • Nothing prints.
    • Sometimes a dialog appears stating that the printer cannot be found.

    Affected Products
    • Portable StyleWriter printer with the Portable StyleWriter 1.0.1 driver.
    • PowerBook G3 Series

    Solution

Update to a newer version of the printer driver called PowerPrint and update to a newer serial-to-parallel cable. Both of these are available from a third-party company called Infowave.

For information on compatibility and how to obtain the PowerPrint driver and cable, please contact Infowave.
