    I heard that QuickTime 4 supports Tagged-Image File Format (TIFF). However I cannot get some TIFF images to open using QuickTime. Why is this?

DISCUSSION

    QuickTime 4 does indeed support the TIFF file format, as do previous versions of QuickTime. However, there are several different compression formats used by TIFF, and not all of them are currently supported by QuickTime 4.

    • None
    • PackBits
    • LZW
    • CCITT 1D

    Unsupported TIFF codecs
    • Group 3 Fax
    • Group 4 Fax
