    Solution

This alert appears only if your computer has a CD-ROM drive instead of a DVD-ROM drive. CD-ROM drives cannot read DVD-ROM discs.

You can remove the Apple DVD Player application by following these steps:

    1. Start up the computer from the Software Install CD.

    2. Open the Mac OS Installer.

    3. Choose the destination disk from the pop-up menu.

    4. Click Add/Remove.

    5. Click the checkbox to select the Mac OS 9 option.

    6. Choose custom removal from the pop-up menu on the right.

    7. Click the Multimedia disclosure triangle to reveal its individual options.

    8. Click the checkbox to select the Apple DVD Player option.

    9. Click Start.

The Apple DVD Player software is removed from your system.

    Note :

    1. The parenthetical product description (Summer 2000) refers to the summer of the Northern Hemisphere.
