TOPIC Certain grayscale images may appear compressed and distorted when used in iTools HomePage Photo Albums, or when used in iCards. Changing the image mode from grayscale to RGB color resolves the issue.
DISCUSSION
Symptom A grayscale image stored on your iDisk appears distorted when used in a HomePage Photo Album or an iCard. The image is compressed to the left side, while the right side is filled with vertical colored lines. See Figure 1. With HomePage Photo Album, the distortion occurs with the small thumbnail image but not the full-size image.

Products affected Solution 1. Change the image mode of the image from grayscale to RGB color. (Doing so does not change the appearance or coloration of the grayscale image.) 2. Copy the converted image to your iDisk, replacing the previous version of the image. For assistance converting images from grayscale mode to RGB color mode, consult your image editing application's documentation.
