TOPIC

Use the Login pane in the System Preferences application to choose applications and documents that you want to open automatically when you log in to Mac OS X Public Beta. Do not add or remove items from the "StartupItems" folder.

DISCUSSION

Follow these steps to have an application or document open automatically when you log in to Mac OS X Public Beta:

      1. Log in to Mac OS X Public Beta.

      2. Open the System Preferences application.

      3. Click Login. (If you do not see Login, click Show All.)

      4. Click Add.

      5. Select an application or document.

The items you select will open automatically the next time you log in. To stop an application or document from opening automatically, follow the same steps to select it and click Remove.

Warning: Do not add or remove items from the "StartupItems" folder. This folder is for system use only; you should not modify it.
