TOPIC

This article explains how to set up the iBook (FireWire) computer and its audio/video cable so that video is sent to the screen and audio is sent out through the cable to an external audio device such as a stereo.

DISCUSSION

Follow these steps to set up the iBook (FireWire) computer and its audio/video (A/V) cable:

      1. Connect one end of the cable to the computer's composite A/V port, and the other end to the external audio device.

      2. Open the Monitors control panel.

      3. Set the resolution to either 640 x 480 or 800 x 600. Do not select an NTSC or PAL resolution.

      4. Close the Monitors control panel.

Video displays on the iBook (FireWire) screen and audio is sent out through the A/V cable.

A standard audio cable, purchased separately, can also be used for this purpose.
