Energy Saver settings on client workstations cannot be changed by Network Assistant if the administrator's computer has Mac OS 9.1.

Symptom

You are unable to change the Energy Saver settings of a Network Assistant client workstation. An alert box appears with the message, "This workstation does not support Energy Saver."

• Any computer with Mac OS 9.1 installed
• iMac (Slot-Loading and Later)
• iBook (All versions)
• PowerBook G3 (Bronze and FireWire)
• PowerBook G4
• Power Mac G4 (All versions)
• Network Assistant 4.0.x (see note below)
• Network Assistant 3.6.x (when the administrator's computer has Mac OS 9.1). (see note below)

Solution

Energy Saver settings on client workstations cannot be changed by Network Assistant if the administrator workstation is one of the above computers.

Note:

• Network Assistant 3.6.x client software is for use with Mac OS 8.1 through Mac OS 8.6.
• Network Assistant 4.0.3 client software is the only version of the Network Assistant 4 client software that is compatible with Mac OS 8.1 through Mac OS 8.6.
