QuickTimeTV Broadcaster Installer
Introduction
QuickTimeTV Broadcaster is an application that takes advantage of the networking capability built into your computer so you can broadcast to other machines over a network such as the Internet. QuickTimeTV Broadcaster uses the QuickTimeConferencing system software extension. This means any application that can watch a QuickTimeConferencing broadcast (e.g., the QuickTimeTV client application) can watch a broadcast originated using QuickTimeTV Broadcaster.
The instructions below explain how to install QuickTimeTV Broadcaster. To print these instructions, choose Print from the File menu, and click the Print button in the dialog box that appears.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You should NOT run this installer on a machine configured for QuickTime Conferencing/H.320 because the application supporting H.320 currently will not run on the QuickTime Conferencing 1.5.8 extension that this installer will install in your system folder.
Hardware Requirements
QuickTimeTV Broadcaster has been tested extensively on the Power Macintosh 8100/80, 7500, 7600, 8500, and Performa 6400. You will receive a warning when trying to install on other PowerPC-based MacOS computers; however, you will still be allowed to install the software.
QuickTimeTV Broadcaster supports Apple built-in video. Apple cannot guarantee compatibility with third-party video input cards. QuickTimeTV Broadcaster does not require both audio and video sources in order to function correctly.
Software Requirements
Installation
Do not turn your extensions off (either by using the Extensions Manager or by holding down the shift key while restarting) before installing. If you do, you will not be allowed to install the software.
Double-click on the "QTTV Broadcaster Installer" icon. Follow the directions on the screen to install the software. You will be asked to restart your computer. You will then find the software in a new folder on your hard drive called "QuickTimeTV." Look inside this folder for the file "About QuickTimeTV Broadcaster," which explains how to use the QuickTimeTV Broadcaster application.
