DISCUSSION

    About the Apple System Profiler
Apple System Profiler 1.3.2 (ASP) lets you gather information about the configuration of your computer. The information that ASP reports may be useful if you need technical support.

ASP 1.3.1 is compatible with all 68040-based Macintosh, Macintosh Performa and PowerBook computers, and with all PowerPC-based Power Macintosh, Macintosh Performa and PowerBook computers. ASP 1.3.1 requires Mac OS 7.6 or later.

To install ASP 1.3.2, move the ASP application file into the Apple Menu Items folder inside the System Folder.

To use ASP, open the Apple menu and choose Apple System Profiler. The System Overview window will appear. Use the Select menu option to view other windows with information about network and communications, volumes, devices, control panels, extensions, System folders and applications. To create a report of the information gathered by ASP, use the Create Report option under the File menu option.

Changes included in Apple System Profiler 1.3.2
    - Added support for HFS+ (also called Mac OS Extended format) when running with Mac OS 8.1.
    - Added support for Power Macintosh G3 and PowerBook G3.
    - Changed application type from APPL to APPD, so that dropping the file onto a system folder will copy it into the Apple Menu folder automatically.
    - Changed Device screen "Interface Type" to report "SCSI" for any SCSI device.
    - Fixed minor bugs in screen and report formatting, in data gathering for classical networking, and for localization of string resources.
