DISCUSSION From the Read Me Files: Using the Color LaserWriter 12/6x0 PS ColorSync Profiles The Color LaserWriter can print images differently depending on the particular printer you are using and how much the photoconductor and toner cartridges have been used from the time of installation. A new photoconductor tends to cause images to print with a lighter density. This package, consisting of 8 new ColorSync profiles, allows users to select a profile more closely tuned to their situation. Note: This procedure will not change how the startup page prints, nor will it fix any printing problems from Photoshop or other programs which send their own PostScript or CMYK data. If you are using a page-layout program with color elements not matched by ColorSync, you may get better results using the TRC method. Open the file "ReadMe - TRC Selector" in the Color LaserWriter 12/6x0 TRC folder for information on using this method. Instructions:
2. Using a sample color image in an application, print once using each of the eight ColorSync profiles you just added. Label each page with the name of the appropriate ColorSync profile. 3. Look at the pages, and decide which profile looks best on your printer. 4. Mark the print with your profile choice on it and store in a cool dark place. This print can then be used to compare future printouts to maintain consistent output from your CLW12/6x0. This profile should be usable for 500 to 1000 pages. You could also reprint a sample color image at periodic intervals. To change ColorSync profiles:
2. In the "Print" dialog box, go to the "Color Matching" screen. 3. Make sure the "Print Color:" option is set to "ColorSync Color Matching" 4. For "Printer Profile:" select one of the CLW12_6x0PSp# ColorSync profiles. 5. Click on "Save Settings" to use the same profile when printing in the future. When printing, go to the Color Matching panel and verify that the desired ColorSync profile is selected. If you have installed the TRC correction method, make sure that the TRC selected is "Printer's Default".
