DISCUSSION From the Network Assistant 3.0.1 Read Me This Read Me describes version 3.0.1 of Apple Network Assistant, which you can use to update Network Assistant version 3.0. IMPORTANT You can only use the Network Assistant 3.0.1 to update Network Assistant 3.0. You cannot use it to update Apple Network Assistant 3.0 Demo. Network Assistant 3.0.1 fixes a problem some users may have had with the Copy Hard Disk command whereby Network Assistant copies the System Folder from the disk that holds the Network Assistant application even though you may have designated a different hard disk. IMPORTANT When using the Copy Hard Disk command to copy a System Folder, make sure that System Folder contains the Network Assistant Startup extension 3.0.1. Network Assistant 3.0.1 replaces the Network Assistant Startup extension. You need to install the new Network Assistant Startup extension on your administrator workstations and all the user workstations that you manage using Network Assistant. You do not need to update the Network Assistant application or the Network Assistant Security application. Known Issues Network Assistant 3.0 and 3.0.1 are compatible with Mac OS system software version 7.1 and later, including Mac OS versions 8.0 and 8.1. There are two known issues with Network Assistant 3.0 and 3.0.1 and Mac OS 8.0 and 8.1: 1. You can't do disk verification reports of HFS+ formatted hard disks with Network Assistant 3.0 or 3.0.1. 2. When you drag an item from a Network Assistant report to your hard disk, the Copy Items dialog reappears after the copy is completed. Clicking Cancel will dismiss this duplicate dialog box. |
