DISCUSSION
Every time I connect to my Internet service provider (ISP) Apple Remote Access disconnects me after about ten minutes. Why is this happening? How can I print from my IrDA-capable PowerBook to an IrDA laser printer? Sometimes I get an out of memory error followed by a crash when using the File Synchronization control panel on my PowerBook computer. My PowerBook G3 Series battery does not seem to charge when the PowerBook is running. It will charge when the PowerBook is asleep. What's wrong? There is a known issue where a small piece of shielding near the inside of the case touches the metal part of the AC adapter port. This prevents the system from properly charging the battery. You should contact the Apple Assistance Center and arrange for this to be repaired. Some people have reported being able to move this shielding away with a piece of plastic, which may be a temporary measure, but doing this runs the risk of moving the shielding improperly and shorting out the board. You should have it checked out by Apple. My PowerBook G3 Series computer cannot make a modem reconnect after being awakened from sleep mode. My fax software does not pick up the call and receive the fax. Occasionally, the modem will go into data mode instead of the idle (fax) mode. When this happens, the modem will no longer answer an incoming fax call. My PowerBook G3 series loses network services when using the built-in Ethernet. You may need the G3 Ethernet 2.0.4 software which is on the Apple Software Updates Web Site I have PowerBook 3400 and internal modem/ Ethernet issues. If you have a PowerBook 3400 Internal Modem/Ethernet 33.6 card in your computer and you experience any freezing or must reset the modem often, you should install the updated drivers found on the Apple Software Update site (this update has been incorporated into Mac OS 8.1). I am having difficulties when I try to print to a serial printer. Make sure you have turned AppleTalk off with the AppleTalk control panel. The issue is intermittent battery contact and is resolved by installing a small foam gasket. I have a Powerbook 3400 which does not recognize the RAM card I added. A small foam gasket is available to hold the RAM in place. I have a PowerBook 5300. The case is separating at the display hinge, and the AC adapter port is not working properly.
