This article tells how to select the Desktop folder as the default download location.
DISCUSSION There are two ways to do this that are not documented in Mac OS Help at this time. 1) In the Navigation Services selection dialog, holding down the Option key while selecting Desktop from the Shortcuts button selects the Desktop folder. 2) In the Navigation Services selection dialog, after selecting Desktop from the menu or by typing Command-D, the startup disk is usually selected in the list of Desktop items, though some other item can be selected based on recent actions. Shift-clicking on the selected item in the list deselects; clicking the Select button will choose the Desktop folder. |
