    My Power Macintosh G3 (Platinum) came with a DVD-ROM drive, but I cannot play DVD movies. Can you help?

DISCUSSION

    Some original Power Macintosh G3 (Platinum) configurations could be ordered with a DVD-ROM drive prior to the availability of a DVD-Decoder card. These computers lack support for Apple's DVD-Decoder Personality card and cannot play DVD movies.

    To add the ability to play DVD movies to such a configuration, a third party solution, such as a PCI MPEG2 decoder card would have to be used.
