Luma/chroma clamping - Some users report seeing a shift in the brightness and/or color of their images when transitioning from raw unrendered DV footage into footage rendered by the Apple DV codec.

For example, when going into or coming out of a cross-dissolve, some users report that the rendered material in the transition appears to darken slightly, in footage with certain types of lighting conditions.

Solution

Update your Final Cut Pro application to version 1.2.5 or later.
