When printing to some Epson printers from Help Viewer, your Macintosh computer may exhibit certain errors.

Symptom

When printing to some Epson printers from Help Viewer, a Type 1, 2, or 11 error occurs, or Help Viewer unexpectedly quits. After clicking OK (if an alert box appears with that option) or after restarting the computer, the print job usually prints.

Solution

Use a different inkjet or laser printer to print Mac Help files.

If you wish to print the contents of the Help window on your Epson printer follow these steps:

1. Locate the Help information you wish to print.

2. Capture the contents of the screen to a file. To capture the contents of the Help window:

• Press Command-Shift-4-Caps Lock.
• Click on the Help window to be captured.

3. A picture of the window is saved as a file on your hard disk named "Picture 1", or another number depending on how many other screen captures are on your hard disk.

4. Open the screen capture file with an application such as SimpleText. (Double-click the icon and SimpleText will display it.)

5. Print the screen capture using your Epson printer.
