    Final Cut Pro requires Sound Manager 3.6.3 or later to work with PowerBook (FireWire) computers.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom
    Final Cut Pro drops frames and loses sync in clips on PowerBook (FireWire) computers if Sound Manager 3.6.2 or earlier is installed. Some PowerBook (FireWire) computers come with Sound Manager 3.6.2 installed.

    Solution
    Use the Software Update control panel to download and install Mac OS 9 Update (9.0.4). You can also download it from Apple Software Updates at http://www.apple.com/swupdates/ .
