DISCUSSION

Using Network Assistant to Install Macintosh Manager 1.3

You can use Network Assistant's Copy Items feature to copy Macintosh Manager components onto the hard disks of Network Assistant client computers. For more information see the Copy Items feature in the "Managing the Network" section of Network Assistant Help, available in the Help menu.

Files to Copy to Client Computers

    1. Copy the following files to all client computers:

    • Appearance (location: System Folder: Control Panels: Appearance)
    • Multi-User Startup (location: System Folder: Extensions: Multi-User Startup)
    • Login (location: System Folder: Login)
    • Panels (location: System Folder: Panels)

    2. Copy the following additional files to all non-Mac OS 9 client computers. These files are available in the Macintosh Manager Parts folder on the Macintosh Manager Install disk image:
    • Appearance Extension (location: System Folder: Extensions: Appearance Extension)
    • NavSecurityLib (location: System Folder: Extensions: NavSecurityLib)

    Copying the Multi-User Prefs File

You can also copy this file from a client computer that already connects to the Macintosh Manager server at system startup time. This sets your other Macintosh Manager client computers to connect to the same Macintosh Manager server:

    • Multi-User Prefs (location: System Folder: Preferences: Multi-User Prefs)
