About System Disk Utility 2.6.2 for Mac OS X Server 1.2

System Disk Utility 2.6.2 for Mac OS X Server 1.2 is a Mac OS program that allows you to select which hard disk your computer will start up from. To startup your computer with Mac OS X Server 1.2, use System Disk Utility 2.6.2 to select your Mac OS X Server 1.2 hard disk, then restart your computer.

    Important

    • This version of System Disk Utility 2.6.2 is not an update and does not replace the version of System Disk included with Mac OS X Public Beta.
    • This version of System Disk can only be used with Mac OS X Server 1.2. It is not compatible with Mac OS X Public Beta.
    • You cannot use the Startup Disk control panel to select a Mac OS X Server 1.2 disk; you must use System Disk Utility 2.6.2 instead.

Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9 information

    • System Disk Utility 2.6.2 is only qualified to work with Mac OS 8.1 or later.
    • System Disk does not work correctly with ATA disks in Slave mode.

    Additional information

    • Make sure your timezone is set correctly in both Mac OS 8, Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X Server 1.2.
    • If you have to reset parameter random-access memory (PRAM) by holding down the Command-Option-P-R keys at startup, remember to restore your AppleTalk, Start Up Disk, Timezone (pre Mac OS 8.5 only), and Disk Cache settings.
    • For more information about starting up your computer with Mac OS 8, Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X Server, see the Mac OS X Server 1.2 Installation Manual. Any late breaking information about System Disk will be found at: http://developer.apple.com/macosx/
