TOPIC

When exporting your project to DLT in DDP format, the resulting project contains a file called DDVID.DAT. Some replication systems may display an error that says "DDPID.DAT not found."

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

When reading the DLT tape, some replication systems may display an error that says: "DDPID.DAT not found."

Note: DDP is an earlier standard that some replication facilities may use to replicate DVD-Video discs.

    Products affected

    • DVD Studio Pro 1.0.1
    • DLT tape drives

    Solution

DDV/CMF is the standard format for DVD replication. The DVD specification for DDV/CMF states that the file should be named DDVID.DAT. For DDP format, the file should be named DDPID.DAT. When exporting as DDP format, DVD Studio Pro incorrectly writes the file name as DDVID.DAT.

    Workaround

For DVD replication systems that display this error, the system operator should rename the file to DDPID.DAT.
