    Is At Ease compatible with Mac OS 8.5?

DISCUSSION

    At Ease is compatible with Mac OS 8.5. However, there is one issue to be aware of.

    Mac OS 8.5 provides new Navigation Services dialogs for opening and saving files. At Ease is not yet aware of these new dialogs and therefore places no limitations on where users can navigate to in the file system. Therefore, applications utilizing Navigation Services will be able to bypass At Ease security, allowing users to access the file system.

    For the Basic user, in the single machine, home user case, this may not be a major issue, compared to the other benefits provided by At Ease Basic.

    Apple now offers an update for At Ease for Workgroups 5.0.2 (ANAT) to address this issue. Information on Apple Software Updates available for downloading can be found at: http://asu.info.apple.com
