This article contains some tips on setting up your iMac computer.
DISCUSSION (This information is gleaned from the Info Center online help system, which is located on your computer's hard disk.) Important: Your computer has a three-wire grounding plug that will fit only a grounded AC outlet. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact a licensed electrician to replace the outlet with a properly grounded outlet. If you move your computer to another location, see the section "Carrying The Computer" for helpful information. Adjust the angle of your computer, if desired. With one hand on the handle, lift the front of the computer slightly up. With your other hand, flip the plastic foot so it's in the front (slight angle) or in the middle (flat). Then gently set the computer down. Grasp the handle and tilt the iMac backward. The foot has two positions. Flip the foot all the way forward or all the way backward, as desired. Adjust the angle of the Apple USB keyboard, if desired. There are two positions--up (slight angle) and down (flat). 1.With one hand, lift the keyboard up. 2.With your other hand, flip the foot towards the back (slight angle) or the front (flat). 3.Make sure the foot locks into place. 4.Then set the keyboard down. You can rotate the foot on the bottom of the keyboard forward or backward to adjust the keyboard angle. Your computer has two Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports. If you want to keep one port free so you can connect USB equipment directly to your computer, plug the Apple USB mouse into the Apple USB keyboard. Then plug the keyboard into one of the USB ports on your computer. Note: The Apple USB keyboard has two USB ports, one on either side. If you plug the mouse into one of the ports, you can connect another USB device (low-powered or self-powered) to the other port. You can connect a USB device to the free port on your keyboard. |
