This article details the status of the QuickTime Streaming Server and Client availability.

The Preview version of QuickTime Streaming Server software which originally shipped with Mac OS X Server requires an update to bring it to release version. There are two components which need to be downloaded and installed, Mac OS X Server Patch 1.0-1 and QuickTime Streaming Server 1.0 Update. See article 59004, " Mac OS X Server: Patch and QTSS 1.0 Download Instructions" for details on obtaining these files.

To view movies streamed with QuickTime Streaming Server you will need v.4.0 or later of QuickTime. You can download a preview version of QuickTime 4.0 at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/
