TOPIC

What anti-virus utilities are available for my Macintosh?

DISCUSSION

Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple anti-virus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one program to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult. Here are some of the available anti-virus utilities:

Norton Anti-Virus for Macintosh (formerly SAM)
    Publisher: Symantec
    License: commercial

    Virex
Publisher: Dr. Solomon, a Network Associates company
    License: commercial

Anti-virus software is also available on the Internet at http://mirror.apple.com/Mirrors/Info-Mac.Archive/_Anti-Virus
